The
love for training began in high school and has carried on
until this day. After a 5 year stint of
owning and operating a web development / graphic design
company, the 12+ years spent staying in shape and maintaining
health and fitness had overtaken the desire to do anything
else. I'm proud of the real-world education I've received
in Design and Marketing and I'm proud of the work we accomplished
in that regard, but fitness and nutrition was a passion
that I couldn't side-step any longer.
A
rough year in 2004 left me out of shape, overweight, lethargic
and sick more than I had ever been.
My
first commitment to myself was to overcome this problem
at the onset of 2005. No, this
wasn't a "New Year's Resolution" - a resolution
to be broken like so many that we collectively make. It
was a commitment to a permanent lifestyle change that brought
about a watershed event in my life. A watershed
event that had such far reaching consequences I could
never even have forseen. 23 lbs lost, boundless energy and
a new wardrobe (or at least a wardrobe that I could fit into properly again) caused
a 180o turn in my life and revealed a new direction
for my life.
The
strengthening and rehabilitation of core muscles and core
strength has allowed me to perform exercises I never again thought
I'd be able perform.
Many years ago, some incorrect squats
left me with a bout of chronic lower back pain that had
persisted until recent memory. I stand here today as an
example of the successes possible in overcoming health problems
such as this.
I'm proud to say that I have "climbed
the mountain" to FIGHT BACK for lower
back (and consequently total body) health, and I am on my
way down the successful side of the mountain. I
will not go quietly away into the night and allow my life
and health to devolve to nothing more than pain management
and overmedication that our society has sunk to these days.
I now carry in my backpack the knowledge needed to help
you do the same. Are you in a vicious cycle of pain management,
poor nutrition, back pain and / or poor health? It CAN be overcome. I am living proof.
When
my health was brought into line, every other area of my
life began to fall into place as well - personal, professional,
recreational, etc. When YOUR health is brought into line, it will give you the strength to address every area of your life.
My
health is a precious gift. My health is a blessing. My health
is the BEST blessing. My health, is my
life. YOUR health, is my life. If I were
to disregard that what
would I be doing to protect that blessing? Not much.
How
is your health? Whatever state it is in, PROTECT
IT! Fight for it. Believe in it. Hope through it.
Do
you want to change it? Change begins with choice. Change
your mind, change your body. Change is good.
These
sayings are familiar to many of us. There is not
any portion of this planet Earth that does not undergo change.
Its somewhat arrogant that we decide that we have
it all figured out and that we can be the one entity on
planet Earth that doesn't change. Change is difficult sometimes, but the good that comes out of change is usually way above and beyond what we would expect.
I
promise, when your health and fitness is in order, every
other area of your life will begin to fall into line.
Join
me in transforming the health and wellness of our population
one person at a time. Lets begin today. You're not
promised a tomorrow.
Have a strong day. |
